India, South Africa, Australia or New Zealand - Who will play the 2023 World Cup final?

The ICC Cup World Cup 2023 is in its last leg with the 45-match league stage of the tournament done and dusted.

After 39 days of non-stop cricketing action, it's time for the knockouts. India, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand are the four confirmed semi-finalists.

India ended the league stage at the numero uno spot, maintaining a nine-match winning streak. They are now the favourites to progress to the showpiece.

South Africa and Australia won seven games each, while New Zealand closed in on 10 points, gaining victories in five of their nine fixtures.

Who will play World Cup 2023 final?

The draws for the semi-finals are decided. First and fourth-placed teams will play in the semi-final 1. This means India will face New Zealand on November 15 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

The other two sides, Australia and South Africa, will feature in the semi-final 2 of the ongoing competition on November 16 at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

The winners of these two games will meet each other in what will be the summit clash of the 2023 World Cup, which is scheduled on November 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

Based on current form, the prospect of an India vs South Africa final looks a strong one, but the other two sides will have something to say about that.

What if rain abandons a semi-final?

Considering the threat of rain, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has kept a reserve day for the knockout matches, including the semi-finals.

If a semi-final bout is abandoned even after the reserve day, then the team which finished higher on the points table will enter the final.

Therefore, India and South Africa are at advantage as they ended the league stage higher than their respective opponents, New Zealand and Australia.
