On Saturday, India began their Asia Cup campaign with a group stage clash agasint arch-rivals Pakistan. The match was abandoned after incessant rain during the innings break meant the second innings could not take place.

Before the abandonment, India had been bowled out for 266 in 48.5 overs, with Ishan Kishan (82) and Hardik Pandya (87) leading the way for the Men in Blue. Shaheen Shah Afridi finished with four wickets for Pakistan, while Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf took three each.
Before India's recovery, however, they had been struggling at 66/4, with the entire top four dismissed. Shreyas Iyer, making a comeback from injury after nearly a year out was the third batter to fall, and former India opener Kris Srikkanth had some strong words to say about it.

"When you know you cannot play a pull shot properly, why don't you duck?" - Kris Srikkanth
Speaking on his YouTube channel Cheeky Cheeka, Srikkanth said,
First of all you [the BCCI] have selected someone who has not played for a year, saying he has hit 199 in a practice match. So many days they said he is not fit, now suddenly they are ruling him fit. Just one short ball, [and he got out].
Now let me not criticise. We all know he must have got out about 20-30 times to the short ball, including IPL and international cricket. My advice to Shreyas Iyer is why don't you start ducking? Why don't you start moving away? When you know you cannot play a pull shot properly, best is to duck, no? Just surrender.
Srikkanth went on to drive home his point by repeating comments he made over a year ago, saying that Shreyas is a "great player of ordinary bowling and an ordinary player of great bowling".
