Their unbeaten partnership of 202 runs rescued the Australian team from a challenging situation as Afghanistan had pushed the Aussies to a precarious position with a score of 91-7.

This achievement surpasses the previous record of 117 runs, which was held by Iain Butchart and Dave Houghton of Zimbabwe against New Zealand in the 1987 World Cup.
