Is Glenn Maxwell the most overrated all-rounder in IPL? Detailing his stats in Indian Premier League image

Glenn Maxwell is regarded as one of the most valuable players in T20 Cricket. The Australian all-rounder has a unique skillset as a cricketer, which is quite rare to find. Apart from being a genuine hard-hitter of the ball, Maxwell can also come handy with the ball, bowling off-spin.

However, the IPL has not always been a hunting ground for the RCB allrounder. The 35-year-old has represented four IPL franchises, including his current home, in Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

But the Aussie hasn't been in the best of forms in IPL 2024. He even asked the management to drop him from the playing XI during the season because of his form and mental fatigue.

What did Parthiv Patel say on Glenn Maxwell after RCB vs GT match?

Former Indian wicket-keeper, Parthiv Patel started a debate on social media by calling Maxwell the most 'overrated' all-rounder.

What is Glenn Maxwell's IPL record?

Glenn Maxwell has scored over 2700 runs in a whopping 127 appearances in the Indian Premier League. He is a hard-hitter, boasting a strike-rate of 150+, which in the current age is a bare-minimum. Considering the pursuit of IPL franchises and the money the teams pay to acquire Maxwell, his statistics should be a lot more appealing.

As a bowler, Maxwell has only had little to contribute. The 35-year-old has picked 36 wickets in his career, at an economy of 8.33. Moreover, Maxwell has not dismissed more than two batsmen in a single game.
