Cricket Australia reveals new sponsor, Test kit for home summer

Toyota Australia will feature as a sponsor on the front of the Australian men's cricket shirts after upgrading their partnership with Cricket Australia.

Their branding will also appear on the non-leading sleeves of players as part of a one-year agreement.

HCLTech has also upgraded their sponsorship, with their logo to be displayed on the leading sleeve.

As for the design itself, the Test kit features dark green trim on the sleeves and around the collar, with small pops of yellow.

Indigenous artwork has also been embossed onto the garment.

The already-released ODI shirt is primarily yellow with green accents, while the T20 kit sports the inverse colours.

For the women's team, Commonwealth Bank has stayed on as the principal shirt front and leading-arm sponsor, with Toyota a fresh addition as the non-leading arm sponsor.

It is the first time Cricket Australia has sold all of its available women's shirt sponsorship real estate.

Why did Alinta Energy pull out as Australian cricket kit sponsor?

Cricket Australia's deal with former shirt sponsor Alinta Energy concluded in June, meaning the men's team was in line to potentially play with a vacant sponsor sport on the front of their kit.

This situation has been avoided though following the announcement of a one-year deal involving Toyota and HCLTech.

Alinta Energy cited a "change in brand strategy" after pulling out of an extension.

There were, however, claims that Australian captain Pat Cummins' climate advocacy influenced the deal.

Cummins opted not to feature in any promotional material for Alinta Energy in the final year of its sponsorship with Cricket Australia.

He told News Corp any claims regarding his sway were untrue.

"It was complete rubbish," Cummins said.

"The nature of the position I am in you do get dragged into different things.

"It was one of those moments you have to live with people you don’t know having opinions about you."

Where to buy Australian cricket kit

Official ASICS replica merchandise can be purchased via Cricket Australia's online store.

They sell replica Test, ODI and T20 shirts, as well as various training gear items.

In Australia, official merchandise can also be purchased directly through kit suppliers Asics, Rebel Sport and other sports retailers.
