After a month of action, the 2023 World Cup is finally drawing to a close, with the final set to be held on 19 November, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

On Wednesday, India beat New Zealand by 70 runs in the first semifinal in Mumbai to secure qualification for the summit clash. The hosts will be joined by either Australia or South Africa, who are contesting the second semifinal at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

But what are the plans for the final match, and which famous personalities will be in attendance?

Is there a closing ceremony before the World Cup final?

It was confirmed on Wednesday that there would be an official closing ceremony for the tournament ahead of Sunday's final. The World Cup's official broadcaster, Star Sports revealed the information on X (formerly Twitter).

 

Who are performing in the ICC World Cup final closing ceremony?

BCCI has now officially announced the performers list for the closing ceremony.

The Indian Air Force are set to perform an airshow in Ahmedabad ahead of the match.

Aditya Gadhvi will be doing a solo set during the first drinks break. While renowned Bollywood A-listers like Pritam, Amit Mishra, Nakash Aziz will add further glitz and glamour during the innings break.

On Thursday, it was also reported by Dainik Jagran that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be attending the final in Ahmedabad. Several filmstars are also expected to grace the occasion.

While this World Cup did not kick off with an opening ceremony, there was a special programme organised ahead of the India-Pakistan clash in Ahmedabad on 14 October, which saw singers Arijit Singh, Sukhvinder Singh and Shankar Mahadevan perform.
