The third Test of the 2021/22 Ashes series will be played at the legendary Melbourne Cricket Ground.

The 168-year-old stadium boasts a capacity of 100,000 fans and is considered a monumental venue in Australia's sporting landscape.

It hosts the annual Boxing Day Test, which is one of Australia's most popular sporting traditions.  

The MCG has the record for the largest crowd on a single day of Test cricket at 91,112 during the 2013-14 Ashes.

Legendary Ashes moments at the MCG

Sir Donald Bradman had one of the best performances of his career in the 1936-37 Ashes series at the MCG. 

With most of the star batters bowled out for either ducks or low runs, Bradman scored 270 runs off 275 balls, ultimately winning the match for Australia. 

In more recent times, Australian cricket icon Shane Warne became the first man to bowl 700 test wickets at the Boxing Day Test in 2006.

When is the third Ashes Test?

The famous MCG will host the third Ashes Test between Australia and England, which begins on December 26. If needed, day five will be on December 30.
