Australia has another experimental squad playing as the T20 series against West Indies gets underway in Hobart on Friday night.

Four players who will not feature in the upcoming T20 tour of New Zealand will attempt to impress Australian selectors with their opportunity.

The Windies will be tough to beat in the T20 format, having beaten England 3-2 in their last series in December.

Interestingly, Australia has already picked a full strength T20 squad for the series in New Zealand later this month.

Sean Abbott, Aaron Hardie, Spencer Johnson and Jason Behrendorff are four players in the squad to play the Windies that missed out on the NZ T20 tour.

David Warner will return to the international scene after his retirement from Tests and ODIs.

Nathan Ellis and Matt Short were initially picked in the squad but have been late withdrawals because of injury, while Travis Head has been rested.
