Zadran ended a match against Zimbabwe with figures of 5/50 with Afghanistan going on to claim a ten-wicket win as they easily chased down a 134-run total.

Pakistani fast bowler Waqar Younis was previously the youngest player to claim a five-wicket haul when he took 6/26 against Sri Lanka in 1990 aged 18 years and 164 days.

At 16 years and 325 days, Zadran has comfortably beat Younis' 28-year record with comparisons already being made to fellow countryman and talented bowler Rashid Khan.

Zadran dismissed both Zimbabwe openers and captain Graeme Cremer cheaply with his extraordinary spell.

Afghanistan's victory in that game has handed them unassailable 3-1 series lead heading into the final game on Monday.
