Manchester City fans have plenty to celebrate as their team has matched an impressive Champions League record previously held by their bitter rivals, Manchester United.
The Citizens stormed to a 4-0 victory over Slovan Bratislava on Tuesday night, with Ilkay Gundogan, Phil Foden, Erling Haaland, and James McAtee all getting on the scoresheet.
City are now unbeaten in 25 consecutive Champions League matches, equalling a record set by United between 2007 and 2009.
It’s safe to say Pep Guardiola’s side are making their mark on Europe, and the latest result only adds to their growing reputation.

Pep Guardiola breaks Fergie’s record
If matching United’s unbeaten run wasn’t sweet enough, City also saw Guardiola surpass a record held by Sir Alex Ferguson.
The 4-0 triumph marked the 13th time City have won by four or more goals in the Champions League under Pep, beating Ferguson’s 12 with United. Talk about one-upping your neighbors!
After the game, Guardiola was quick to praise his players. “The group of players are fantastic, we played a good game, a lot of chances, and got the first three points of the competition,” he said.
When asked about the big scoreline, Pep downplayed its importance: “I’m not thinking about goal difference, just win your games and it will be enough.”

Gundogan shines, Foden finally finds the net
Ilkay Gundogan was back to his best after a tough game against Newcastle, and Guardiola was full of praise. “He played a fantastic game today,” the manager noted, clearly pleased with the midfielder’s bounce-back performance.
Phil Foden, who had been struggling to find form, also got off the mark with his first goal of the season. Pep’s advice to the youngster? “Pass the ball to the post, not shoot, and you’ll have more chances.”
As City gear up for their next Premier League clash against Fulham, the question is: can they keep up this dazzling form?
