Shakur Stevenson continues his journey to prove he is the best in boxing when he defends the WBC lightweight title against Artem Harutyunyan at the Prudential Center in Newark on July 6. The 12-round bout, plus undercard action, will air on ESPN+ in the U.S.
Stevenson (21-0) is already a three-division champion at 26. The Newark native won gold at featherweight and super featherweight before picking up the vacant WBC lightweight crown with a 12-round unanimous decision win over Edwin De Los Santos in November.
Harutyunyan (12-1) won bronze in the 2016 Olympics. The German fighter lost a decision to Frank Martin last year after being forced to take a knee in the final round of their fight. He also lost out on an opportunity to face Gervonta Davis but is ready to prove his worth against Stevenson.
Martin’s losing performance against “Tank” has Stevenson believing Harutyunyan will suffer the same fate against him.

“I'm not going to say I want to knock him out because, at the end of the day, when you go in there looking for the knockout, that's how they don't come,” Stevenson said via Boxing Scene. “I'm looking to prove there are levels. We saw that Frank was on a C-level [against Davis], and I want to show Artem is C-level as well.
The undercard will have a world title on the line, and several top prospects look to leave their mark.
Shakur Stevenson vs. Artem Harutyunyan undercard
Here’s a breakdown of all the action on the Stevenson vs. Harutyunyan card.
O'Shaquie Foster vs. Robson Conceicao
- Division/Weight: Super Featherweight
- Foster record: 29-0
- Conceicao record: 18-2-1
- Belts at stake: WBC title
The co-feature will see O'Shaquie Foster defend the WBC super featherweight title against Robson Conceicao.
Foster (22-2) beat Rey Vargas to become champion in February 2023. The 2012 U.S. Olympic alternate successfully defended the belt in The Sporting News' 2023 Fight of the Year against Eduardo Hernandez, beating “Rocky” via TKO following a wild affair that included a classic eleventh round.
“I'm excited to be back for my third title defense,” Foster said. “Conceicao is a great opponent who has been in the ring with a lot of top fighters, but come July 6, we will be ready. I will keep proving that I'm one of the best fighters in the world.”
Conceicao (18-2-1) is 1-2-1 in his last four fights, with one of those losses coming against Stevenson. Despite being dropped, the Brazilian star fought Emanuel Navarrete to a draw in November 2023 in a bout for the WBO super featherweight belt. “Nino” has nine wins via knockout.

Keyshawn Davis vs. Miguel Madueno; Lightweights
- Division/Weight: Lightweight
- Davis record: 10-0
- Madueno record: 31-2
- Belts at stake: N/A
Opening the ESPN+ broadcast will be Keyshawn Davis vs. Miguel Madueno.
Davis (10-0) has been fast-tracked to contender status but not without incident. His win over Nahir Albright was changed to a no-contest when he tested positive for Marijuana last year. However, the Olympic silver medallist from 2020 got himself back together and dominated ex-champ Jose Pedraza in February.
Madueno (31-2) lost to Steve Claggett for NABF gold, but he did not let that deter him. "Explosivo" won his most recent fight in February, and his 28 knockout wins make him a legitimate threat.

William Foster III faces Eridson Garcia.

- Johnson record: 12-3
- Belts at stake: N/A

Mason (13-0) has received the Bob Arum stamp of approval. A multi-time USA Junior Open winner and a 2020 Youth National Championships finalist, the Ohio-born fighter has 11 wins via knockout.
“Abdullah Mason is a tremendous talent,” Arum told The Ring. “He can do everything in the ring. He’s a nice young man with good habits outside the ring. He comes from a great family. He’s really breathtaking in the ring and we anticipate a lot of years of promoting his fights. He can be a major, major star in boxing.”
Lebron (20-5-1) is 2-3 in his last five fights, ending a three-fight losing streak in 2023 with two straight TKO wins.
Ali Feliz vs. Robinson Perez
- Division/Weight: Heavyweight
- Feliz record: 2-0
- Perez record: 2-0
- Belts at stake: N/A
Heavyweights are in action as Ali Feliz faces Robinson Perez.
An Olympic hopeful, Feliz (2-0) is looking to go 3-0 in 2024. Both wins for the 20-year-old have been by TKO.
Perez (2-0) last fought in September 2023. Before this fight, he wanted to compete in bare-knuckle action but his fight was nixed.
