Canelo vs. GGG 2: I go to bed visualising Golovkin knockout, says Alvarez image

Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez has spent many evenings in bed visualising how he will knock out Gennady Golovkin in their eagerly awaited grudge rematch on Sunday (AEST).

Almost exactly a year on from their first fight, which ended in a contentious draw, the rivals will square off in Las Vegas.

Originally, the rematch was slated to happen in May but that bout was postponed after Canelo tested positive for clenbuterol and served a six-month ban.

Several barbs have been aimed at Canelo from Golovkin and his camp over that suspension, leading to palpable tension before the big fight.

Golovkin has never been put down in his professional career, let alone knocked out, but that has done little to deter Canelo's belief.

"I visualise the knockout," he told Sporting News. "Every night I go to bed visualising what I'm going to do to get the knockout.

"I know it's going to be tough, but it's a matter of time."

Asked if the verbal attacks had affected him, Canelo replied: "I am angry, but I'm going to use it in my favour in this fight.

"For every action, there's a reaction. They aren't going to take me out of my game plan on Saturday night."
