Sam Goodman vs. Mark Schleibs full card results: Hometown hero scores fourth-round stoppage victory image

Sam Goodman stopped Mark Schleibs in the fourth round in front of a raucous crowd in his hometown of Wollongong on Wednesday night.

Goodman, mandatory challenger to the WBO super bantamweight title, proved far too good in recording his first stoppage victory in six fights to improve to 18-0.

In the co-main event, Endry Saavedra scored an upset win on the road over the hard-hitting Issac Hardman, while Curtis Scott made his professional boxing debut a winning one with a second round KO of Joey Leilua.

Take a look at a summary of the action:

Sam Goodman turns back challenge of Mark Schleibs

Sam Goodman retained his undefeated record with a round four TKO victory over a game Mark Schleibs in the main event.

Schleibs had provided an ideal sparring partner for Goodman in the lead-up but it was clear from the outset they weren't on the same level in the ring.

Goodman pressed the action from the opening stages, with Schleibs looking to land the single, fight-changing blow.

It never came as Goodman stayed on the front foot.

Ahead of the fourth round, the referee and doctor told Schleibs he was on thin ice and some more offence from Goodman saw it waved off accordingly mid-way through the period.

Endry Saavedra upsets Issac Hardman on the road

Hard-hitting Queenslander Issac Hardman was a hot favourite against Mexico-based Venezuelan Endry Saavedra but it was the visitor who recorded a big knockout victory.

After seven rounds of a back-and-forth middleweight war, the fight appeared in the balance before Saavedra's work on the inside finally put a dent in Hardman.

Sensing a chance to end the bout, Saavedra swarmed, landing several heavy blows as Hardman shelled up on the ropes, eventually forcing the stoppage deep into the eighth round.

Curtis Scott knocks Joey Leilua out in round two

Curtis Scott has claimed the first win of his professional boxing career, defeating Joey Leilua via KO.

Scott looked the better boxer in the opening round before ending the fight the following round.

The former Canberra Raiders and Melbourne Storm centre landed a big left hook as Leilua attempted to wheel away early in the second.

Leilua just beat the count but referee John Cauchi waved it off with the big man on unsteady legs.
