Paul Gallen reveals plans to continue boxing career with multiple fights despite Justis Huni loss image

Paul Gallen will return to the ring ‘to make a dollar’ and claims his asking price has gone up in the aftermath of his first career defeat to Justis Huni last month.

The 39-year-old suffered a broken rib in his 10th-round TKO loss to rising star Huni four weeks ago.

Speaking on Wide World of Sports Radio on Tuesday night, the Cronulla Sharks legend revealed he will ignore calls to retire and add multiple bouts to his 13-fight career.

“Yeah I will get in the ring again, who that is against and when I’m not too sure,” Gallen told Wide World of Sports Radio.

“Think about this, in all seriousness, people go, ‘Really, why?’. In over 400 games of football and what 15 fights, I’ve been beaten once, or hurt once.”

The 39-year-old’s love of a dollar is no secret and the Gallen revealed he is set for even bigger paydays despite his first career blemish.

“The offers that have come to me the past three weeks have been unbelievable from that fight,” Gallen said.

“It’s like my stocks have gone up. I can’t imagine what would have happened had I have won that fight but my stocks have gone up because of the effort I put into it and because of the fight itself.”

Asked if the offers have come from footballers or boxers, Gallen replied: “I have the option to do both. Probably first of all it’ll be football players to start with and then after that I’ll go back to boxers and MMA people.

Gallen didn’t reveal who he has fielded offers from but left the door open to a bout against his Channel 9 co-worker Sonny Bill Williams.

“There’ll be rugby league players to start with and then we’ll look at boxers and MMA fighters after that, and there’s always the option of Sonny Bill,” he said.
