At least four AFL greats will be stepping into the ring in a footy-themed boxing display later in the year.
Brownlow Medal winners Dane Swan and Adam Cooney are confirmed to partake in the 'All Stars Boxing - Footy Fight Night' event, with the duo appearing on the front page of the Herald Sun, advertising the evening.
Aside from the ex-Pie and ex-Dog, there's ex-Cat Cameron Mooney and dual Coleman Medallist Brendan Fevola also involved with the boxing event, headlining the night.
According to reporters at North Melbourne Boxing and Fitness on Tuesday, Fevola has been training with Swan for some time and has dropped a considerable amount of weight.
"I've been working pretty hard. I was nearly 128kg three weeks ago and I'm down to about 116kg and a half," Fevola said.
"I've been eating really well, that's been the main thing. I've got a kitchen now so haven't been having Uber Eats for the last four months for five meals a day. But the training's really hard.
"I'm under no illusion: I can't fight and obviously Cam is in pretty good nick - he walked in with his top off and I've got a bit of a fat gut. I know I can't fight, but I'm going to go in there and you don't want to (disrespect) the sport of boxing. I want to make sure I look good when I hit the canvas.
The star goal-kicker has announced the difficulty surrounding his training, saying it's not easy, especially since being out of the game for so much.
"It's bloody hard. I'm coming from zero fitness. I've done absolutely no training in 13 years since I retired, so I'm gased but I'm working up my fitness. Hopefully I can last the six minutes - and if not, Cam will knock me out. But that's OK.
"If I go out there looking fat and hit the canvas, it's embarrassing. But If I look good when I hit the canvas, at least I've got something to go by."
Given the shape and size of the players partaking in the evening, the fighters will be split and categorised into respective weight classes.
Port Adelaide player Kane Cornes was apparently courted for the affair, but has since publicly denied any involvement, saying he turned down the offer.
Speaking on SEN SA Breakfast, Cornes alluded to the reasoning behind him denying the chance to enter the boxing ring.
"It was sold to me as though you're unlikely to get hurt. I'm not sure if I believe that, whether they were just telling me what I wanted to hear," Cornes said.
"I had said yes, but then I thought about it and had a chat to my manager Chris, who is involved in putting it together as well.
"Middle of footy season, busy schedule, and the potential to make an absolute fool out of myself which will never be lived down, the reasons I let it go."
The event will take place at Margaret Court Arena on August 3.
