Dillian Whyte will face unbeaten Mexican Oscar Rivas at the O2 Arena on July 20.

British heavyweight Whyte is ranked number one by the WBC but missed out on a shot at champion Deontay Wilder, the governing body ordering the American to defend his title against Dominic Breazeale instead.

The 31-year-old – nicknamed 'The Body Snatcher' – will put his status with the WBC on the line when he tops the bill in London against Rivas, who stopped Bryant Jennings inside a round in January.

Whyte recorded wins over Lucas Browne, Joseph Parker and Dereck Chisora in 2018, improving his record to 25-1, and is looking forward to his first outing this year.

"I am more than happy to carry on fighting top 10 fighters like Rivas until I get my well-earned shot at Deontay Wilder or Anthony Joshua," Whyte said in a press release from Matchroom Boxing.

"I can't wait until July 20 to fight again at The O2 which is one of the best venues in the world for boxing."
