The Battle on the Reef will take over Townsville in October with some of rugby league’s toughest players set to do battle in the boxing ring before rising star Paulo Aokuso headlines the event with a title fight.
Before the Aussie rising star competes for the IBO Intercontinental light-heavyweight title, current and former NRL stars including Jason Taumalolo, Reagan Campbell-Gillard, Tevita Pangai Junior and Justin Hodges will step into the ring.

"What an enormous lineup of outstanding athletes we've got set for the Battle on the Reef," Stan's Director of Sport, Ben Kimber, said.

The Battle on the Reef will mark Pangai Jr’s first boxing match since he announced his retirement from rugby league when he fights Frank Amato.
Meanwhile, Taumalolo and RCG will make their professional boxing debuts when they face off against each other.

Nelson Asofa-Solomona and Jarrod Wallace will do the same thing in Queensland with the two forwards scheduled to fight.
Junior Paulo will continue his foray into boxing when he meets Ben Hannant, while Hodges will attempt to bounce back from two losses against Paul Gallen when he locks horns with Matt Cooper.
Pangai Jr’s brother Jermaine will also feature on the undercard against Nepote Dawadawa, with Austin Aokuso to fight against Filimoni Naliva Jr.
