It took about two dozen police officers to diffuse the melee.

About five minutes into the second half, Marquise Caudill decked a Southern Vermont player, who according to d3hoops.com, appeared to be Kyle DePollar.

Caudill, a 6-7 guard and the leading scorer for Daniel Webster (13.7 ppg), "proceeded to stomp the downed opposing player," Nashua, N.H., police said in press release (via the New Hampshire Union Leader).

Caudill, 22, then threatened officer John Hannigan, who was trying to intervene, and Elizabeth Morris, 43, of Malden, Mass., attempted to block Hannigan from arresting Caudill, police said.

Antwaun Boyd, a 23-year old Daniel Webster player, "appeared to be inciting an already hostile crowd that had now surrounded Officer Hannigan," the release said.

About 25 cops responded to Hannigan’s request for backup before the situation settled down.

Caudill was charged with second-degree assault (a Class B felony), simple assault, criminal threatening and disorderly conduct, according to the Union Leader. He is being held on $50,000 cash-only bail.

Boyd was charged with disorderly conduct, and Morris was charged with obstruction of government administration. Both were released after posting bail.

Daniel Webster forfeited the game, with Southern Vermont awarded a 2-0 victory.

Daniel Webster College, located in Nashua, N.H., will cease operations after this academic year, as ITT Tech acquired the school and decided to shut it down.
