Ruben Amaro is backtracking on comments that may have ruffled some feathers in the City of Brotherly Love.
The Phillies general manager tried to explain what he meant in an interview in which he said the team’s fans didn’t understand the game.

Those comments were part of a CSNPhilly.com story about fans being worried about the team’s planning after its slow start.
“They don’t understand the game,” Amaro said in the original interview. "They don’t understand the process. There’s a process. And then they bitch and complain because we don’t have a plan. There’s a plan in place and we’re sticking with the plan."
