Michael Pineda is a stud.
It took him a while to realize his potential, but after striking out 16 Orioles on Sunday, it appears he's figured something out. Pineda, 26, has struggled with injuries and velocity loss in his career, but improved to 5-0 with a 6-2 win against the Orioles.
Pineda's 16 strikeouts are the second-most in Yankees history (Ron Guidry struck out 18 hitters in a game in 1978), and he tied an MLB record by doing it in just seven innings.
