Well, that escalated quickly.
Mariners manager Lloyd McClendon put on a show in front of a home crowd in the third inning Tuesday, parading around Safeco Field in a tizzy to address each umpire individually after what he felt should have been a third strike on the Yankees' Alex Rodriguez.

McClendon left the field to a standing ovation, as fans clearly appreciated the fire their manager showed when coming to the defense of catcher Mike Zunino. First base umpire Will Little ejected Zunino for arguing the play from behind the plate.
Earlier in the game, Mariners players voiced their disapproval with a check-swing call by third base umpire Tony Randazzo in favor of Yankees hitter Brett Gardner that even confused Gardner.
The Mariners came into the game with four losses in their last five games, so maybe this will help them turn things around.
