Former American League MVP and Cy Young Award winner Justin Verlander pitched in his first rehab game Sunday for Triple-A Toledo.
Just not very well.

The Tigers' ace gave up three runs in 2 2/3 innings as he attempts to work his way back into the Tigers' rotation from a right triceps injury he sustained in spring training.
Verlander, working on a pitch restriction, threw 79 pitches and reached 95 mph on his fastball twice. The Tigers have to decide if he will throw another rehab game, or immediately join the rotation.
Verlander hasn't pitched in a regular-season game since Sept. 24.
In third place in the A.L. Central with a 28-23 record, the Tigers could certainly use the Verlander of old. But there are plenty questioning what, exactly, they'll get when he does come back.
