Sydney's Zak Jones can accept a two-match ban for rough conduct following his bump on Essendon's Kyle Langford late in his side's loss at Etihad Stadium on Friday night.

The Swans went down by 43 points in a fiery affair, leaving their top eight spot in jeopardy and keeping the Bombers' finals hopes alive.

With the game all but over, and having already been placed on report for an incident prior to the first bounce, Jones collected Langford in the head with a hip and shoulder.

Bombers coach John Worsfold discussed the incident after the match.

“He’s pretty sore so he’s gone off to hospital now just to get checked out,” Worsfold said.

“We're a bit unsure but concerned enough that they need to get him to hospital to get checked out.

“… It was shoulder pain but the shoulder pain was lingering and going down his arm a bit.

“So that is a warning sign I believe for the doctors to find out what’s causing that pain.”

Match review officer Michael Christian offered Jones a two-match ban on Saturday.

Jones was also fined for a cheeky left hand thrown at Zach Merrett before the match had even started.

Essendon's Devon Smith has also been hit with a fine after he hung a leg out towards Luke Parker.
