West Coast got the choccies against the Suns on Saturday night, but it could come at a cost for skipper Shannon Hurn.

Eight minutes into the first quarter at Optus Stadium, Hurn went in for the ball, with Josh Corbett also racing for the Sherrin.

Hurn got his fingers to the ball first, but his hip connected with Corbett's head.

The West Coast captain didn't deviate his line, but Corbett still copped the full brunt of Hurn's 96kg frame.

AFL.com.au posted the vision and questioned if Hurn would be in trouble for the bump.

Sydney legend Jude Bolton disagreed when commenting on the post, saying Hurn was "bending over to take possession" and had "hands on the footy".

Brisbane player Mitch Robinson also commented, and was frank in his assessment: "Bump? Don’t make something out of nothing."

A five-goal-to-one second term helped West Coast seal the 11.14 (80) to 8.9 (57) win on a tense night in Perth.

The Suns refused to give in and battled back from 39 points down at the main break, and as many as 42 points down midway through the third quarter.

The away side demonstrated their 2019 form upswing in the second half, putting a clamp on the Eagles' ball movement.

It got to the reigning premiers as a monster upset loomed, the normally calm Hurn at one stage triggering a spat next to the interchange bench.

West Coast will now prepare to take on St Kilda next week at Marvel Stadium, with both teams desperate to improve on their 4-3 records. Whether Hurn will join the party remains up in the air.
