Umpires Eleni Glouftsis and Dillon Tee get engaged in the middle of the MCG image

Whilst it's more commonly where two tall ruckmen go toe-to-toe, the centre circle of the MCG was the scene for a much kinder coming together on Saturday night.

After Carlton disposed of the Adelaide Crows in a thrilling 27-point win, boundary umpire Dillon Tee got down on one knee and proposed to field umpire Eleni Glouftsis under the lights in the middle of the famous ground.

Glouftsis is the AFL's first ever field umpire, and was one of three officiating the game between the Blues and Crows.

At 25-years-old she made her debut in the round nine clash between Essendon and West Coast during the 2017 AFL season.

She was also named SA Young Australian Of The Year earlier this year.
