Toby Greene's father sentenced to nine months in prison over assault on police officer image

The father of GWS star Toby Greene has been sentenced to nine months in prison for assaulting a police officer.

Michael Greene reportedly headbutted a female police officer following the 2019 grand final which GWS lost to Richmond by 89 points.

The 60-year-old was charged with intentionally and recklessly causing injury, resisting arrest, public drunkenness and breaching his bail.

Greene had been locked up since the incident he didn't apply for bail. He now faces nine months behind bars following sentencing on Friday.

The Ferntree Gully man has reportedly not had contact with his famous son for several years.
