Richmond v Melbourne: Sydney Stack crunches Jack Viney with massive bump image

The final quarter was barely five seconds old when Richmond youngster Sydney Stack left his mark - literally - on Demons co-captain Jack Viney.

Fourth-gamer Stack charged off the halfback line as Viney took a handpass, collecting the Melbourne hard-nut with a brutal bump on the turn.

The ball spilled loose as Stack bounced up and the Tigers set off up the field after winning possession.

Viney has seven years and 100 games experience on his opponent though he was left on the deck nursing a very sore right shoulder.

Check out the video below.

Viney was taken into the rooms for treatment and returned to play the rest of the final term with his shoulder heavily strapped.

It wasn't the only highlight for the 18-year-old on Wednesday night at the MCG, with Stack hauling in big speccy in the second quarter.

In just his fourth senior game since being selected as pre-season selection under the AFL's new rules, Stack has already endeared himself to the Tiger faithful.

The youngster earned a standing ovation as he came to the bench late in the last quarter as Richmond ran out 43-point winners.

Many had written the Tigers off after a shocking start to the season on the injury front, though Wednesday's win over Melbourne improves their record to 4-2 for the year.

They now have a 10-day break before taking on Western Bulldogs in round seven.
