Are we going mad or did that 'goal' from Jordan Dawson definitely hit the post?

The versatile Swan was given a goal in the final term of his side's loss to Geelong at the SCG on Sunday afternoon, with the score review determining there was inconclusive evidence to overturn the on-field call.

Now, the system has come under plenty of scrutiny this season, so we generally support the option of going with the umpire's call when the vision is insufficient to overturn it.

But, in our opinion, the ball definitely hit the post on this occasion.

Take nothing away from Dawson, who went one better than West Coast's Willie Rioli did on Saturday, selling candy to three Cats defenders before steering the ball home.

Check out the video below.

The camera angles for the score review weren't great, but when the vision is played in real time, it looks pretty clear to us that the ball deviates.

And, if you needed any more convincing that it hit the post, take a look at the Swans fans immediately behind the ball.

No word on whether the league's 'snicko' system - AFL Edge - was in use at the SCG.

The AFL has already confirmed they are fast-tracking the introduction of a 'review centre' in an effort to remove howlers from the system.

It can't come quickly enough as far as we're concerned.

Fortunately for Geelong, and the AFL, Saturday's error wasn't crucial, with the Cats running out 27-point winners to solidify top spot on the ladder.
