Scott Pendlebury injury: Collingwood captain sidelined after surgery on broken finger image

Collingwood skipper Scott Pendlebury looks set to be sidelined for several weeks after having surgery on a broken finger.

Pendlebury suffered the injury to the middle finger on his left hand in the second quarter of his side's comeback win over West Coast at Optus Stadium.

In an inspiring effort, the captain played through the injury and delivered a massive 32-touch performance in the one-point victory.

Unfortunately for the Pies, they will now be without Pendlebury for what looks to be at least the next few matches, adding to their already significant injury woes.

The exact timeframe for Pendlebury's return is currently unclear, though it could be reportedly as long as six weeks.

It's the same finger Pendlebury had operated on in 2017.

Key defender Darcy Moore failed to finish the match against the Eagles, injuring his troublesome hamstring.

The Pies look set to be without Moore and Pendlebury in addition to the likes of Dayne Beams and Jaidyn Stephenson, who are both sidelined for long spells.

Collingwood currently sit second on the ladder with an 11-5 record ahead of their round 18 clash with the Giants in Western Sydney.
