Former Coleman medallist Scott Cummings has been sacked by 3AW following tasteless comments that showed "poor judgement."

Cummings, along with Swan, faced heavy backlash after laughing about jokes regarding sexual assault on their podcast. It led to the two ditching the podcast.

Cummings issued an apology on Tuesday night, but that seemingly was not enough for 3AW, who terminated their relationship with Cummings immediately.

In a statement issued by the broadcaster, 3AW said that they had terminated the contract of the special comments and boundary rider due to disgust over the jokes.

“Although the comments were never aired on 3AW, we believe there is no platform appropriate for such remarks,” the 3AW statement read.

“Sexual assault is never a laughing matter. Jokes about sexual assault are never OK.

“We fully endorse comments from Domestic Violence Victoria today that ‘flippant comments degrading women are often dismissed as trivial, harmless and even funny, however, the evidence tells us that these attitudes contribute towards the social conditions that allow family violence and violence against women to continue unabated’.

"The fact that this podcast was published, remains online, and was defended by Mr Cummings on social media, shows incredibly poor judgment.”

Cummings, along with 2011 Brownlow medallist Swan, and producer Ralph Horowitz, had faced scrutiny due to a segment where they read out the definitions of their name from the website, Urban Dictionary.

Swan vented his frustrations over the criticism on social media on Tuesday, tweeting out that if people didn't like what was said, they simply should not listen.

"Wow, just wow. The carry on about a stupid podcast and the things people are trying to attach to it is one of the most absurd things I've heard," Swan tweeted out.

"If ya didn't like it ya didn't have to f---ing listen to it. It's that simple. Lot of haters and sad sacks in this country it seems."

"If we had of [sic] ever said anything wrong or offensive we would of [sic] apologised but the fact is we have never have and I'll debate anyone anywhere arguing that point," he said in another tweet.

The incident comes only a week after the two had been involved in an "online gender war", after they suggested two female podcasters "lay together."
