Port Adelaide have reportedly held off on starting negotiations for a new contract with Sam Gray, with Carlton one of the clubs showing interest in the small forward.

Gray has been one of the Power's most consistent players this season, booting 18 goals from 14 games this year.

He continued his form on Sunday, where he kicked two goals and had 19 touches in Port Adelaide's loss to Brisbane.

However, AFL.com.au have reported that Gray is yet to be offered a contract with the Power beyond this year.

Gray has played 90 games with the club since 2014, and only sits behind first-year sensation Conor Rozee on the leading goalkickers tally for the Power.

It was also reported that one of the clubs showing interest in Gray was Carlton, who are looking to add to their small forwards list.

The 27-year-old Gray is not the only player out of contract from Port Adelaide.

Riley Bonner, Paddy Ryder, Peter Ladhams and Billy Frampton are without deals next season, while Karl Amon, Matthew Broadbent, Justin Westhoff, Jack Trengove, Trent McKenzie, Cam Sutcliffe and Cam Hewett also have not been offered contracts for season 2020.
