Richmond talls Ivan Soldo and Mabior Chol have re-signed with the Tigers, remaining with the club until at least 2021.

Both have had their best years this season, playing 11 and nine senior games respectively.

Soldo was signed as a Category B rookie back in 2014, before making his AFL debut in 2017, while Chol was drafted during the 2016 rookie draft.

Speaking about the pair, Richmond List Manager, Blair Hartley said the pair's improvement was great for the team.

“We’re really pleased with both Ivan and Mabior’s development so far, they’ve worked really hard with their coaches and teammates to continue to improve,” Hartley said.

“They’re both great competitors and important contributors to our team, and we look forward to watching them develop further in the next couple of years.”

The news comes as Richmond prepare to take on Brisbane in the finals, after defeating them in round 23.

A sub-plot is whether or not they'll tag midfielder Lachie Neale, who had a lazy 51 disposals against the Tigers.

After the game, Richmond coach Damien Hardwick was full of praise for Neale.

“We’ll have a look at it, there’s no doubt,” he said.

“He’s very agile in and around the stoppages. His agility can get him in and out of traffic pretty quickly but it also means you’re reactive as well.

“It’s a bit of a double-edged sword in a way, where you can be a little bit dictated to as well. Whether we back in our boys, we’ll have a look at it and make a better assessment.”

However, broadcaster Mark Robinson believes that Richmond won't tag, and instead, they're toying with Brisbane.

“For Damien Hardwick, the Richmond coach, to come out and say we might look at putting a leash on Lachie Neale … he didn’t do it on Sunday,” Robinson told AFL 360.

“Damien Hardwick comes out and says we might put a leash on him. I think he’s playing with their heads. I don’t think Damien is going to do that one little bit.

“And if I was Chris Fagan — and he might not have to do this or Lachie Neale might even need it — I’d say, ‘They’re playing with you, Lachie. They’re telling us and telling everyone you’re not damaging.’”
