Collingwood players and staff have been forced into isolation after a positive COVID-19 case attended the club's headquarters at Olympic Park.
7News reports the Magpies were notified on Monday of a possible COVID case visiting the Holden Centre, with the attendee since being confirmed as positive.
The club's footballers, netballers and officials who have visited the training facilities since last Thursday were asked to get tested and isolate on Monday.
Collingwood's players in both of their sport teams are currently on leave, but some have been to the Holden Centre in the past few days to use the facilities.
It's understood that players and staff in quarantine will work from their homes during their periods of isolation.
The unsettling news comes less than a week after Collingwood appointed Craig McRae as their senior coach for the next three seasons.
After making the Grand Final in 2018, the Magpies have steadily declined since, before struggling to 17th place finish in 2021 - only ahead of wooden spooner North Melbourne.
Long-time coach and club legend Nathan Buckley was relieved of his duties mid-way through the season, as two-time Brownlow medallist Robert Harvey steered the club to the end of the campaign in an interim role.
Despite finishing second-last on the AFL ladder, Collingwood won't get the No.2 draft pick after the club traded their future first-round selection to GWS at the end of last season.
However, Collingwood are expected to snare father-son selection Nick Daicos via the bidding system, with the midfielder likely to be bid on within the top three selections of the upcoming draft.
