North Melbourne has confirmed the signature of former Western Bulldog Tom Campbell to strengthen the depleted ruck ranks.
The Kangaroos targeted the veteran as a back-up for Todd Goldstein following Braydon Preuss' departure to the Melbourne Demons.
The 27-year-old crossed over to Ardent Street under the new supplemental selection period rule, which allows clubs to pick up previously listed players between December 1 and March 15.

“We obviously identified the need to bolster our ruck division and we are confident Tom can come straight in and will be a great addition to the team,” North football manager Cameron Joyce said.
“Tom adds further experience and his maturity and character will be a valuable addition to the group.”

Campbell played 42 matches for the Dogs since his debut in 2012 but did not appear at senior level in 2018.
It's expected that rising ruckman Tristan Xerri will work closely with Goldstein and Campbell as he progresses towards his AFL debut.
GWS, Melbourne, Carlton, Western Bulldogs, Richmond and Gold Coast all have positions remaining before the supplemental selection period rule ends in March.
