North Melbourne star Ben Cunnington has escaped suspension once again from the MRO for his late hit on St. Kilda's Jade Gresham.

This is the fifth time that Cunnington has been sanctioned this season, this time fined a huge $5000 for the strike.

The Kangaroos midfielder has been fined $15,500 in total this season, fined four times for striking and once for making careless contact with an umpire.

Match Review Officer Michael Christian graded the hit as intentional conduct with low impact to the body.
