Fremantle Dockers superstar Nat Fyfe will challenge the one-match ban he was handed for his hit on Levi Greenwood in his side's loss to Collingwood on Sunday.

After a red-hot start to the year, the midfielder was among the favourites to add a second Brownlow to his 2015 medal, but at this stage he will be ruled ineligible pending the outcome of a tribunal hearing on Tuesday.

Fyfe collected Greenwood with a late elbow to the head in the third quarter of their match at the MCG.

Check out the incident below.

AFL match review officer Michael Christian said the incident was assessed as intentional with low impact to the head and that Fyfe could accept a one-game suspension.

Freo will be risking a $10,000 fine by appealing the decision.

If unsuccessful, the 26-year-old will miss Sunday afternoon's clash with Adelaide at Optus Stadium.

The Dockers gun wasn't the only player charged in a busy weekend for Christian.

North Melbourne's Jy Simpkin can accept a two-match ban for his high bump that left Brisbane's Allen Christensen concussed.

Alex Rance was hit with a $1000 fine for staging after his effort against Essendon on Saturday night.
