Michael Walters can accept a one-match ban for striking Adelaide defender Jake Kelly, although the Fremantle forward did escape punishment for headbutting Tom Doedee in a separate incident.

Kelly copped a punch to the gut from Walters, with Match Review Officer Michael Christian deeming it to be intentional conduct with medium impact to the body.

It cost Fremantle a 50-metre penalty in their three-point win on Sunday, but it could potentially cost them one of their stars against Carlton next week.

Brisbane veteran Luke Hodge was cleared for his heavy contact on Essendon skipper Dyson Heppell that forced him to leave the field with a brutal concussion.

Christian said Hodge was trying to contest the ball and had no other option.

Lions defender Harris Andrews can accept a $2000 fine for striking Bomber Mark Baguley, while Sun David Swallow and St Kilda's Jack Steele can accept $1500 and $1000 fines respectively for making careless contact with umpires.
