Lance Franklin was subbed out half-way through the third term with an apparent finger injury during Sydney's clash with North Melbourne at the SCG on Saturday.

Small forward Ben Ronke replaced the superstar after he went down following a tackling attempt.

Sydney coach John Longmire confirmed it was a suspected finger fracture post-game.

"It looks like he's broken his finger," Longmire said.

"We'll see what the specialist says on Monday."

Franklin left the game with two goals and seven touches, struggling to get away from Ben McKay.

Ronke kicked a goal almost immediately after coming onto the ground, trying to spark the Swans in their bid for their third win of the season.

Having been belted by Brisbane last week, the Roos responded well in Sydney, leading for the majority of the contest on the back of strong pressure, relentless spread and efficiency in front of goals.

Unfortunately for David Noble's side, the home team finished the stronger, claiming an 11-point win.

After a quiet first three quarters, Sydney star Isaac Heeney booted two goals in the final term to help get his side over the line, including the match-sealer.

Swans youngster Justin McInerney was also influential in the fourth quarter, collecting 14 disposals to help prevent a massive boilover.

The footy community's hearts were in their mouth early in the final term when Paddy McCartin and Cam Zurhaar collided.

Zurhaar was taken off with concussion while McCartin stayed on before leaving the field for an assessment based on the vision.

Fortunately for the former number one draft pick with a long history of head knocks, he was passed fit and returned to the contest.
