Richmond champion Kevin Bartlett will cut ties with SEN after 15 years at the radio station.

Bartlett reportedly quit last week and is now serving out a one-month notice period.

The 72-year-old told The Herald Sun on Monday that his decision to resign revolved around the direction the station is heading after a merger between Crocmedia and SEN's parent company, Pacific Star Network, in January.

There is said to be tension between Bartlett and SEN chairman Craig Hutchison which prompted Bartlett to move on.

“I really enjoyed the old SEN and it’s fair to say I haven’t enjoyed the new SEN,’’ Bartlett told The Herald Sun.

“I’m going to do other things, I don’t know what I’m going to do, I’m just having a break.”

Bartlett was shifted from his regular morning slot to afternoons in one of Hutchison's first moves in charge.
