Hawthorn has signed ruckman Keegan Brooksby on a one-year deal as part of the pre-season supplemental selection period.

The 29-year-old big man takes the final spot on the Hawks' list for the 2020 season.

Brooksby has spent the past five years on AFL lists, though only featured in 14 senior games.

Hawks footy manager Graham Wright spoke about Brooksy following the announcement.

“Keegan is a durable and high-quality state league player and has experience at the elite level,” Wright said.

“He’s a mature ruckman, known for his work rate and professionalism and we’re really happy to have him at the club.”

Hawthorn's ruck stocks look set for a reshuffle this season, with veteran tall Ben McEvoy likely to be deployed in defence the majority of the time.

That will leave Jonathan Ceglar as the club's number one ruckman, with Brooksby set to provide cover for Alastair Clarkson's team.
