The resurgent Saints have been hit with some bad news ahead of this weekend's match against Port Adelaide, with Josh Bruce and Jake Carlisle picking up serious injuries at training.
Key forward Bruce is believed to have broken his leg, while swingman Carlisle has suffered a punctured lung.
St Kilda reported the news on Thursday, saying Bruce collided with a teammate and suffered a fractured fibula.
The Saints sit in 15th place with just three wins, but they have won their last two matches.

Despite their recent upturn in form, they can ill afford to lose two players, but they will now be without Bruce for the rest of the season.
The news isn't as bad for Carlisle, who in receiving treatment for a broken rib suffered a minor puncture to his lung.
Saints footy manager Simon Lethlean discussed the injury with saints.com.au.
"There is a small risk in treating rib injuries that this type of complication can occur,” Lethlean said.
“We’d love to have them both out there this weekend but the reality is they won’t be, and we will need guys to step up and fill the void."
Alan Richardson's side travel to Adelaide Oval to face the top-four hopeful Power on Saturday afternoon.
They were already fairly large underdogs but the injuries picked up by Bruce and Carlisle make their task all the more difficult.
