Hawthorn have moved to condemn a "completely unacceptable" social media attack on former captain Jarryd Roughead during yesterday's game against Carlton.
The Hawks came away with a narrow, come-from-behind win over the Blues, though an ugly troll attempt at the veteran took some shine off the result.
A screenshot of a Facebook post to a group with 28,000 members has been doing the rounds on social media.

The post, which Sporting News has chosen not to share, mocked the 32-year-old four-time premiership player's battle with melanoma - from which he made an emotional comeback from in 2017.
Following the circulation of the post, Hawthorn released a statement on Sunday night, with CEO Justin Reeves saying the club will continue to call out that kind of behaviour.
"We've become aware of comments made on social media about Jarryd Roughead during today's game," Reeves said.
"This sort of behaviour is completely unacceptable and will never be tolerated by the Hawthorn Football Club.
"No person should ever be subjected to taunts, especially about issues as personal as this.
"As a club we are fully behind all of our players and will continue to make a stand against this toxic behaviour in our game."

The Facebook profile from which the post came claims the attack was "photo shopped."
"Apparently someone has used my name or photo shopped my profile onto a post about Jarryd Roughead," the user wrote.
"I have no idea what’s going on or what’s actually happened, but I can categorically say, I did not write that post.
"Whether it’s a photoshop or someone has logged into my account, I don’t know. I’m trying to work it out but I’m struggling to get anywhere. Any help would be great."
