Richmond's Jack Higgins has kicked one of the most incredible goals you'll ever see in the Saturday afternoon blockbuster between Richmond and Collingwood at the MCG.

The Tigers livewire picked up the ball deep in the pocket and made his way towards goal, the only problem being the post in the way.

As Magpies defender Darcy Moore closed him down, Higgins' quick thinking saw him drop the ball with his left hand, his body travelling the opposite side of the post.

Once clear of the post, Higgins swung his right leg at the ball and kicked it over his shoulder for a major.

The goal was reviewed to see if it was touched off the boot, while commentators debated the legality of what they'd just seen.

A goal was awarded and the near-capacity crowd tried to comprehend what they'd just seen.

Higgins' goal was just one highlight in a fascinating game at the 'G, with Richmond holding a slight lead for the majority of the match, though Collingwood remaining in touching distance.

The Tigers, just as they have done for most of the season, were able to kick away in the end and take out a 28-point win.

The victory also broke the record for most consecutive wins at the MCG, with Richmond notching up their 18th straight win at the venue.

Only a big percentage-boosting win from West Coast over North Melbourne will prevent the Tigers ending the round on top of the ladder, while Collingwood are still secure in the top four.
