Hawthorn star Jonathon Patton stood down after being accused by two more women of sending obscene images image

Hawthorn has stood down Jonathon Patton after a string of women came forward accusing him of sending unwanted lewd images over social media.

"Hawthorn Football Club has stood down Jonathon Patton from all club commitments until the completion of its investigation into allegations of Patton’s inappropriate behaviour on social media," they said in a statement.

"The club’s Integrity Committee met this afternoon and will continue to ascertain all relevant information.

"The club will provide a further update at the completion of the investigation and asks that the privacy of all parties involved be respected at this time."

This comes as more incidents continue to come to light as further women come forward regarding the 27-year-old sending them messages.

EARLIER:  Hawthorn star Jonathon Patton has been accused by two more women of sending unwanted lewd images - only days after initial accusations of inappropriate conduct surfaced.

In separate incidents, the two women said they received messages from the 27-year-old containing content of a sexually explicit nature, with one accuser revealing she continued to be sent lewd content after requesting it stop.

The new accusations came to light only 24 hours after Hawthorn revealed Patton would be subject to an internal inquiry after an initial incident of lewd behaviour on social media came to light on Saturday .

Speaking to Nine News on Sunday night, Elle Conan explained she made it clear to Patton that his sexually explicit content wasn't wanted but the power forward continued to send lewd messages.

"Basically from the get-go he was talking to me in such a sexual nature that I never reciprocated. He would send me photos of him in bed exposed," Conan said after coming forward following the initial allegations.

"I would make it really clear that I didn’t want that from him."

Another accuser, Jacqueline Kearton, told her story separately via Seven News,  revealing Patton was setting a bad example for his team-mates with the 'uncomfortable' content he sent her.

"He just needs to be made an example of so these young guys who are coming up and looking at these older players think they’d better not do that sort of stuff," Kearton said.

"Unfortunately it’s not something that’s uncommon but it makes you feel uncomfortable."

Patton has since deleted all his social media accounts and is yet to comment on the accusations.

The Hawks are also yet to respond to the latest allegations - however a statement on Saturday explained the ex-GWS star would be subject to an internal investigation with the accused behaviour 'not reflecting the values' of the club.

"Hawthorn Football Club is aware of allegations made on social media regarding the behaviour of Jonathon Patton," the statement read.

"The allegations are of behaviour that does not reflect the values and standards of Hawthorn Football Club.

"As soon as it became aware the club addressed the matter with Patton directly and clearly communicated that any behaviour of this nature would not be tolerated.

"The club takes these allegations seriously and has referred the matter to Hawthorn’s Integrity Committee.

"Hawthorn promotes and advocates for equality and respect for everyone and demands this same behaviour from all involved with the club."

Patton was taken by GWS with the no.1 pick in the 2011 AFL draft but has had his career blighted by three knee reconstructions before requesting a trade to Hawthorn at the end of 2019.

The 198cm forward kicked 45 goals in 2017 and 38 in 2016 in his only AFL seasons with the Giants uninterrupted by injury.

Patton only managed six games in his debut season for Hawthorn in 2020 as he was again troubled by fitness issues.
