Fremantle v Brisbane: Michael Walters wins it for the Dockers after the siren image

Michael Walters has never been so happy to hit the post.

The Dockers star closed out Sir Doug Nicholls round with a behind to break Brisbane hearts.

In a tight, seesawing affair, Walters did enough to score after taking a mark around 40 metres out on a 45 degree angle.

The siren blew as Walters approached, but he wasn't to be put off, flushing the kick and handing the Dockers the win.

"The main thing is to get the four points, but to do it on Indigenous Round is unbelievable for me, but I'm just stoked to get the four points," Walters said post-match.

"It means a lot, I'm a proud Indigenous boy from Midland.

"I just want to be a role model, I'm out here to perform but at the end of the day, I want everyone to follow my lead. This round makes everyone come together, it's unbelievable."

The win sees Fremantle improve to 5-5 for the season, lifting them into the top eight on percentage.

Brisbane are now 6-4 for the year, with gun midfielder Lachie Neale failing to get the chocolates on his return to his former club.

Walters said it was pleasing to be able to overcome the finals-contending Lions.

"Brisbane are a quality side, we know what they can do, we matched it with them for the whole game and there's no doubt we came out on top," he said.

Fremantle take on Collingwood at the MCG next Saturday, while Brisbane host Hawthorn at the Gabba.
