Shane Mumford was playing his first game back after a short retirement that was made slightly longer by a club-imposed ban and Dustin Martin reminded him all about it.

The Richmond star was well held in the first half courtesy of Matt de Boer's tight tag and and perhaps the frustration got the better of him.

Following a second-quarter shot for goal that went for a behind, Martin was caught on camera sticking his middle finger up at Mumford before mimicking a snorting action.

Mumford was suspended and fined over the off-season after a several-year-old video of him snorting a white substance emerged on social media.

After a slow start to the season in which Dusty was criticised for going two matches without making a tackle, all eyes where on the 2017 Brownlow medallist at Giants Stadium on Saturday evening.

De Boer got the chocolates in the first half, keeping Martin to nine touches while picking up 11 himself.

Martin may also find himself in hot water for another second-quarter incident in which he gave away a goal following an incident a long way off the ball.

Richmond had a kick in when Martin appeared to collect an opponent with an elbow as he ran by.

Check out the incident below.

With the AFL cracking down on prohibited contact, that's sure to warrant a second look by the match review officer.

Martin's elbow wasn't the only one making headlines in the match, with Tiger Jayden Short taking no further part after dislocating his in the first quarter.

Check out the incident below (not for the squeamish)

To add insult to injury for Richmond, they dropped their second straight game, going down by 49 points in the end.

It was the Jeremy show for the Giants, with Cameron kicking seven goals and Finlayson finishing with five.
