Dustin Martin has been hit with a two-match suspension for his strike on GWS' Adam Kennedy in Richmond's loss on Saturday afternoon.

The Tigers superstar will miss two weeks if he takes an early guilty plea, though the club can still opt to challenge the ban at the tribunal.

Martin appeared to raise his elbow at Kennedy a long way off the ball in the second quarter at Giants Stadium.

AFL match review officer Michael Christian classified the incident as intentional conduct with medium impact to the head.

Barring a successful challenge, Martin will now miss matches against Port Adelaide and Sydney.

The star midfielder was also fined $1,500 for a separate strike on Matt de Boer.

Those two incidents may not be the last of Martin's troubles from the 49-point loss to the Giants.

Martin could also be sanctioned by the AFL after he was caught sticking up his middle finger at an opponent before mimicking a snorting gesture.

He also appeared to say something to the effect of "have a f***in' line ya..."

The Herald Sun's Jon Ralph said the AFL are expected to ask Richmond for a 'please explain' over Martin's actions.
