St Kilda are reportedly targeting Geelong small forward Daniel Menzel in the upcoming free agency window.

According to Fox Sports' Tom Morris, the Saints have made contact with Menzel's manager Adam Ramanauskas to enquire about his playing future.

Menzel, 26, is out of contract at the end of the season and reportedly keen to stay in Geelong but the offer of a longer contract may be enough to get him to Moorabbin.

He is on a cut price salary in 2018 after testing the waters in the market at the end of the last season before opting to stay at the Cats.

Geelong are understandably reluctant to offer him a deal of more than a year given his long injury history.

Menzel was drafted in 2009 but has only managed 70 games, missing three years from 2012-2014 following four knee reconstructions.

As of round 21, he has strung together five games in a row after missing a good chunk of the season with a groin injury, kicking 23 goals from his 10 matches in 2018.

Menzel isn't the only player on the Saints' radar as they look to drag themselves into finals contention next season.

Sydney midfielder Dan Hannebery has been strongly linked with a move to the club, with coach Alan Richardson since confirming their interest.

The Saints currently sit 15th on the ladder, with clashes against Hawthorn and North Melbourne in the final two rounds of the season.
