Despite shoulder surgery ending his season early, Carlton spearhead Harry McKay has claimed his maiden Coleman Medal.

McKay held an eight-goal lead going into the final home-and-away round, with Geelong big man Tom Hawkins only able to kick four goals against Melbourne on Saturday night.

Josh Bruce and Taylor Walker were also done for the year, while Jack Riewoldt only managed three goals against the Hawks to grab third place on the leaderboard.
