Port Adelaide assistant coach Michael Voss has emerged as a leading candidate for the vacant Carlton head coaching job.
Voss reportedly met with Blues officials on Wednesday, Carlton's first major move in their search for a new coach following Brendon Bolton's sacking.
Speaking on Fox Sports on Wednesday, journalist Tom Morris said the 44-year-old met with club powerbrokers Cain Liddle, Brad Lloyd, Chris Judd and David Campbell to discuss the role.

"Michael Voss has met with Carlton to be the club's next senior coach," Morris said.
"He missed training at Port Adelaide (on Wednesday)... Carlton clearly like what he does, they like his coaching, he's one of the front-runners for that role.
"(Port Adelaide coach) Ken Hinkley has given Michael Voss his blessing to be (Carlton's) next coach."
Voss has been out of a senior coaching job since he was sacked by Brisbane in 2013 after 43 wins in 109 games over a four-year stint.
The Brownlow Medal winner and three-time premiership captain has since admitted that he wasn't ready for a head coaching position when he took over in 2009.
Voss got back on the horse as an assistant with Port in 2014 and has reportedly impressed with his development.
He took charge of the midfield for several seasons before stepping up as Hinkley's senior assistant in 2019.
Meanwhile, Carlton players, who have won three of their five games under David Teague, have reportedly lobbied the club to hire the caretaker coach in a full-time capacity.
Teague was thought to be out of the running following comments Chris Judd made, though the football director has since clarified that no one is out of contention.
Morris reports that Teague will be interviewed for the role nearer the end of the season.
